Meet the Creator of Conscience Therapy
Dr Yordan K. Zhekov holds four Master’s degrees in Theology, Biblical Studies, Addiction Psychology, Psychotherapy and Counselling, the latter three from British Universities, as well as a Doctorate in Theology with specialty in marriage, divorce and remarriage from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He has completed post-graduate research at the University of Oxford and has received a studentship grant from the Alcohol Education and Research Council in London. Dr Zhekov has been a regular lecturer and Associate Academic Dean at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Osijek, Croatia, a lecturer at South London Christian College, UK and a counselling tutor at Richmond and Hillcroft Adult Community College in London.
Dr Zhekov is the author of several books including Divorced or Remarried and Christian: Serial Monogamy and the Quest for Holiness (2024), Defining the New Testament Logia on Divorce and Remarriage in a Pluralistic Context (2009), Conscience in Recovery from Alcohol Addiction: Exploring the Role of Spirituality in Conscientious Transformation (2013), Conscience in Recovery from Drug Addiction: A Theoretical and Empirical Study of Spiritual Conscientious Transformation for the Formulation of Conscience Therapy (2019) and Conscience Therapy: Unveiling the Power of Spirituality in Conscientious Transformation (2022). He has written various articles, conference papers and contributed to other books.
Dr Zhekov is a qualified and an accredited psychotherapist, psychologist, counsellor, life coach and academic trainer. He is a member of the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Practitioners (FDAP), the Substance Misuse Management Good Practice (SMMGP)/ Addiction Professionals and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). He has more than 13 years of experience and is presently working as a freelance psychotherapist, counsellor, life coach and academic trainer.
Dr Zhekov is an integrative counsellor and as such using compilation of therapeutic methods relevant to the personal needs of the individual providing an environment for enablement and empowerment to achievement of the individual goals and personal growth. He is also the developer of the innovative treatment modality, Conscience Therapy.
